Curtin Business School has extended the appointment of leading Australian commentator and demographer Bernard Salt for another three years.

Mr Salt, the Managing Director of The Demographics Group, a start-up demographic consultancy, said he was honoured to continue his long association with Curtin Business School as an Adjunct Professor.

“I am very pleased to be able to continue to work with Curtin Business School and play a role in helping shape the next generation of business leaders,” Mr Salt said.

“We know that this century belongs to highly skilled knowledge workers, meaning education will underpin Australia’s future prosperity and help navigate the fundamental shift that is restructuring the national economy.”

Curtin Business School Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Nigel de Bussy said he was delighted to extend Mr Salt’s relationship with Curtin Business School.

“Mr Salt’s insights into social, generational and broader demographic issues are highly sought after by business, media and the wider community. We are fortunate to be able to draw on that expertise at Curtin Business School,” Professor de Bussy said.

“Through his role as an Adjunct Professor, Mr Salt will continue to provide Curtin Business School students and staff the rare opportunity to engage with one of the country’s leading demographers.

“Extending Mr Salt’s appointment is also a recognition of his outstanding professional achievements over a long career. We look forward to continuing to benefit from his expertise and advice.”

Mr Salt, who was initially appointed an Adjunct Professor at Curtin University in 2011, is a regular media commentator and has popularised demographics through his books, columns and media appearances for more than 25 years.
