Curtin University’s Curtin Business School (CBS) has appointed prominent business leader Kerry Sanderson AO to the position of Adjunct Professor.

Ms Sanderson will act as an advisor on leadership for CBS, including strategic positioning, governance and economic development from a domestic and international perspective.

Professor Tony Travaglione, Pro Vice-Chancellor of CBS, said Curtin was delighted to have a prominent, high profile business leader such as Ms Sanderson, who would provide strategic insight and advice to CBS in her role as Adjunct Professor.

“Ms Sanderson’s expertise, skills and experience would further strengthen the School’s strong industry links and provide CBS with valuable strategic counsel to continue to look beyond the domestic markets towards the greater global picture,” he said.

Ms Sanderson said she had a strong commitment to education and learning in Australia and believed business education was an important area of focus, and had been impressed by CBS’s commitment to accreditation and excellence.

“In my Adjunct Professor role, I will continue to be involved in strategic issues associated with the further development of the Curtin Business School,” she said.

“Through my international experience as Agent General for Western Australia, as well as my roles on the boards of both not-for-profit and listed companies, I continue to focus on WA and the need to improve productivity and international competitiveness.

“I see education and training as one of the means to achieve this, and I am pleased to be able to provide input into the strategic positioning of CBS in both the domestic and international markets.”
