This is the fifth Annual Communities and Social Networks Conference presented by the Department of Internet Studies at Curtin University.

The conference, which has been running annually since 2010, was primarily organised by students as part of the Internet Communities and Social Networks (NET204) internet communications unit. This year it forms part of two sister conferences addressing these issues alongside the conference presented by students through Open Universities Australia.

This year the conference has papers presented in five streams:

  • Social Networks
  • Communities and Web 2.0
  • Gaming and Online Communities
  • Identity in Communities and Networks
  • Indigenous People, Virtual Communities and Online Social Networks

Visitors to the conference are invited to read and comment on these papers and join the debates.
