Astrofest is back in 2019 with an astronomically awesome FREE event the whole family will enjoy!

This astronomy festival of epic proportions is an engaging celebration of Western Australian astronomy and stargazing.

As well as optical and radio telescopes observing throughout the day and night, Astrofest will feature myriad interesting, engaging and exciting indoor and outdoor activities for the whole family. You can also take a look through some of WA’s biggest telescopes.


  • Take a look through some of WA’s biggest amateur telescopes and watch expert demonstrations.
  • Listen to real-life astronomers share what they’ve discovered in space
  • Make your own Lego radio telescope
  • Tour the universe with a laser guide or in a space dome
  • Make your own rocket to launch
  • Follow along the giant solar system walk
  • Explore the astrophotography exhibition
  • FREE galileoscope telescope for the first 500 families through the door
  • Food Vendors available and picnics welcome!
