Bluestocking Week 2014
Bluestocking Week is an initiative of the National Women’s Action Committee. This year, Bluestocking Week runs from 11 – 15 August.

This year’s Blue Stocking Week theme is “Crossing the Line”, with a focus on fighting attitudes that seek to silence the voices of women, and to highlight the importance of women speaking out and sharing their stories and views.

The theme is “Crossing the Line”, with a focus on fighting attitudes that seek to silence the voices of women, and to highlight the importance of women speaking out and sharing their stories and views.
This will be the third year that NTEU together with NUS (National Union of Students) have run Bluestocking Week, after successfully relaunching it in 2012. Over the last 2 years, the event has grown in both scope and size, with more university campuses participating each year.
The Bluestocking Week will have different events throughout the week in universities around Australia. The Curtin event will take place on Thursday 14 August from 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm at the John Curtin Gallery.

Prof. Deborah Terry – VC Curtin University
Dr Shamim Shamani – Ethics, Equity and Social Justice
