Impact of Meat Consumption on Health and Environmental Sustainability, edited by Talia Raphaely and Dora Marinova of Curtin University Sustainability Policy Institute, is an international collaboration between 29 leading thinkers and researchers across 10 countries in the transdisciplinary area of sustainability.

This timely publication coincides with the recent categorisation by the World Health Organisation (WHO) of processed meat as a carcinogenic and read meat as a probable carcinogen. It also coincides with the recent Lancet Commision’s report about the threat of climate change to human health.

Tackling complex and provocative issues, the book clearly argues for urgent reduction in meat consumption in order to mitigate dangerous environmental and human health impacts.
