The 2015 John Curtin Prime Ministerial Library (JCPML) Anniversary Lecture, commemorating the anniversary of John Curtin’s death, will be presented by Mr Peter FitzSimons.

Mr Peter FitzSimons will present the 2015 John Curtin Prime Ministerial Library Anniversary Lecture on Monday 27 July.
The Honourable Julia Gillard, Patron of the John Curtin Prime Ministerial Library, will give an introduction.
The John Curtin Prime Ministerial Library (JCPML) Anniversary Lecture commemorates the anniversary of John Curtin’s death (5 July 1945). Curtin was the only Australian Prime Minister to represent a Western Australian seat in the House of Representatives and led his country during the most critical phase of World War II. The JCPML recognises Curtin’s significant contribution to Australian society.

About Peter FitzSimons
Peter FitzSimons is a well-respected columnist for the Sydney Morning Herald and the Sun-Herald. Peter is the author of several bestselling books including Tobruk, Kokoda, Batavia and Gallipoli. Peter attended the 100th anniversary commemorations of the ANZAC landings at Gallipoli and has been a council member of the Australian War Memorial since March 2012.
About Julia Gillard
The Honourable Julia Gillard was sworn in as the 27th Prime Minister of Australia on 24 June 2010 and served in that office until June 2013. Ms Gillard was the first woman to serve as Australia’s Prime Minister or Deputy Prime Minister.
