Curtin University of Technology is pleased to announce that The Brand Agency has been appointed as the University’s new creative agency following a competitive and stringent four-month tender process.

Under the contract The Brand Agency will provide advertising and marketing services to Curtin for an initial period of three years.  Options are available to the parties which could see the contract extended to a maximum of seven years.

As the University’s existing contract with Gatecrasher Advertising was about to expire, nine agencies were invited to tender.  Submissions were evaluated against their demonstrated capacity, skills and experience and service delivery.  Based on this assessment, three agencies were short-listed and invited to pitch.  The Selection Panel recommended The Brand Agency as the Preferred Tenderer because they best met the selection criteria.

Curtin’s Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Strategy and Planning, Ms Valerie Raubenheimer, welcomed the new partnership with The Brand Agency.

“After an extensive tender process, we are excited to partner with The Brand Agency to deepen our engagement and connection with future students and continue to build Curtin as one of the most recognised international tertiary brands,” Ms Raubenheimer said.

Ms Erin Corner, Director at The Brand Agency, is looking forward to the new partnership with Curtin.

“The client ran an excellent pitch – incredibly professional and rigorous – and The Brand Agency is absolutely thrilled to be appointed. Curtin is a fantastic brand and we are very excited about the future of our partnership.”

Ms Raubenheimer acknowledged the dedication of the University’s previous agency, Gatecrasher Advertising, in building the University’s brand.

“For over five years our two organisations have worked together to successfully establish a strong brand for the University that demonstrates Curtin’s innovation to the broader community,” Ms Raubenheimer said.

“One of the highlights of the relationship was winning the Australian Marketing Institute’s 2004 national award for marketing communications excellence in Western Australia for the Curtinnovation concept.

“It is always hard to part with people who have become friends as well as colleagues and we wish Gatecrasher well with their future endeavours.”
