Curtin appoints Vice President Corporate Services

Curtin University of Technology has appointed Mr Geoffrey Searle as Vice President Corporate Services.  The position is a broad, newly-created leadership role within the University’s executive that will help drive Curtin’s commercial success, physical development planning and overall information technology initiatives.

Mr Searle has extensive relevant experience, having held senior positions with Home Building Society, StateWest Credit Society and the Challenge Bank Group.

The Vice-Chancellor of Curtin, Professor Jeanette Hacket, said that Mr Searle’s experience would play an important role in helping the University to achieve its strategic goals.

“Mr Searle comes to Curtin with extensive experience as a corporate services executive in the areas of finance, information technology, human resources, and project management,” Professor Hacket said.

“He has led multi-discipline teams and has a record of success in developing business strategies and implementing complex solutions, and will certainly be a significant asset to the University.”

In this new position, Mr Searle will head the finance, IT, property, facilities, legal services, corporate risk and executive support areas of the University.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce with majors in Accounting, Organisation and Business Management, and is also a Certified Practicing Accountant.
