Curtin University has been ranked among the world’s top 350 institutions in the 2019 Times Higher Education World University Rankings (THEWUR).

The latest results position Curtin in the 301-350 band globally, up from last year’s rank of 351-400.

Curtin University Vice-Chancellor Professor Deborah Terry welcomed Curtin’s continued improvement in prestigious global rankings.

“The latest result shows a 23 per cent increase in the citations score and an eight per cent rise in research activity by Curtin researchers.

“This reflects the growth in papers published by our academics in quality peer-reviewed journals, the income earned to undertake research and an improvement in our global research reputation.”

Professor Terry said Curtin was committed to further developing the University’s research capacity locally, nationally and internationally.

“Curtin is a truly global university with campuses in Western Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Dubai and Mauritius, and we will continue to strive to undertake quality research that makes a real difference to the lives of people all over the world,” Professor Terry said.

The THEWUR are released annually, comparing more than 1,250 universities across the globe.
