Curtin University has moved into the world’s top 250 universities, according to the 2021 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings.

The latest results show Curtin has moved into the 201-250 band with an estimated world rank of 246th, a jump of 12 places from last year.

Curtin Vice-Chancellor Professor John Cordery said Curtin’s continuing rise in global rankings is underpinned by the University’s excellence in research and teaching.

“Since 2018, Curtin has consistently risen through the prestigious Times Higher Education world rankings, jumping 151 places in just four years to now sit in the world’s top 250 universities,” Professor Cordery said.

“This outstanding result further cements Curtin’s reputation as a world-leading university and reflects a strong performance across of a number of indicators, particularly in our teaching reputation score which rose 31 per cent and the citation impact rank which has improved by 15 per cent.

“I am proud that Curtin continues to deliver a world-class learning and teaching experience, allowing both our students and staff to produce research that is making a real difference to people around the globe.”

The THE World University Rankings is the only global ranking of research-intensive universities across all their core missions: teaching (the learning environment); research (volume, income and reputation), international outlook (staff, students and research); citations (research influence); and industry income (knowledge transfer).

The ranking is released annually, comparing more than 1500 universities across the globe.
