Associate Professor Ian Phau from Curtin Business School (CBS) has recently been singled out as an Outstanding Reviewer for the Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence.

The School of Marketing professor, who coordinates the Marketing Honours program and founded the Curtin Marketing Association, received the Award for his dedication and significant service as a reviewer for the Journal of Young Consumers.

The Award recognises Associate Professor Phau as the most useful reviewer based on the group of international scholars who have reviewed the manuscripts.

Associate Professor Phau said he was proud to receive such a significant accolade and hopes to continue to raise the profile of Curtin academics.

“Receiving this Award for a job that I really enjoy is a real honour, and it is especially nice to see hard work come to fruition,” Associate Professor Phau said.

“I hope to continue to increase the profile of both Curtin and Western Australian academics as world class competitors in education and research.”

Head of Curtin’s School of Marketing, Professor Ram Ramaseshan, congratulated Associate Professor Phau on his achievement.

“The School of Marketing is very proud to have accomplished staff like Associate Professor Phau whose achievements are recognised globally, and I congratulate him on receiving this important award,” Professor Ramaseshan said.

“His significant wealth of knowledge in his area of expertise has helped many authors and researchers to improve and develop their scholarly works.”

Associate Professor Phau has been the editor of the highly acclaimed Asia Pacific Journal of Marketing and Logistics for the past four years. Since his leadership of the journal, downloads and citations of the articles have increased five fold. The Journal is published by Emerald, the foremost English language publisher of academic and professional literature in the world.

In 2007, Associate Professor Phau received the Leading Editor Award by the Emerald publishing group which acknowledges the high level of commitment editors demonstrate and their efforts to raise and maintain the journals’ standing.
