Curtin’s Institute of Minerals and Energy (CIME) will begin its Minerals Seminar Series for 2011 at the Resources and Chemistry Precinct, Curtin University, on 9 March.

The Minerals Seminar Series is an opportunity for leading Western Australian minerals and energy research & development representatives to engage industry, government and community in a dialogue regarding the latest issues in the sector.

Speakers:

Professor Peter Lilly, Executive Director of Minerals and Energy Strategy at Curtin University.
‘Minerals sector challenges and some of the Australian R&D being undertaken to overcome them.’

Professor Fiona Haslam McKenzie
‘Enduring community value from mining: The opportunities and the challenges for regions in transition.’
