New road safety initiative launch

A new Healthy Roads initiative will be launched by Curtin University in association with leading health groups on Sunday 27 June 2010 at the Royal Perth Hospital’s Shenton Park campus.

The initiative, funded by the Office of Road Safety, is targeted at reducing the number of fatalities and serious injuries on the road.  It aims to encourage health organisations to contribute to reducing the road toll, with a special focus on injury prevention.

The Healthy Roads initiative will be led by Professor Geoff Dobb, Director of Critical Care and Head of Intensive Care at Royal Perth Hospital with a team at Curtin University.

Curtin Professor of Health Policy, Mike Daube, is also a member of the Advisory Committee.

Professor Dobb, Ms Helen Lynes (Executive Officer, Headwest) and Professor Peter Sprivulis (Emergency Medicine Specialist) will be available for interview at the launch.
