We’ll be discussing Growing up Aboriginal in Australia edited by Anita Heiss. The book is an anthropology showcasing as many voices, experiences, and stories together as possible. Each account reveals the impacts of invasion and colonisation have had on language, on country, way of life and the treatment of the people daily in the community. It honours the resilience of the account writer.

To get the most out of the discussion you should read Growing up Aboriginal in Australia beforehand. The book is freely available to Curtin staff and students online through the Library catalogue.

Register for the bookclub online via Eventbrite.

We hope to see you there!
