Following a confirmed case of COVID-19 in WA the Government has announced a number of restrictions from midday 27 June 2021 for a minimum of three days.  These are detailed on the State Government website.

The following protocols will be in place in Curtin’s metropolitan campuses and venues during this period:

  • Face masks are mandatory indoors and on public transport, and outdoors if physical distancing is not possible. Students will need to provide their own masks.
  • Guidance around the use of face masks at Curtin, including exceptions from use, can be found here.
  • Travel should be minimised out of Perth and Peel, and anyone who travels outside these areas is required to wear a mask. Travel to remote Aboriginal communities remains restricted.
  • All students should check the list of potential exposure locations. If you have been in any of the listed locations you must get tested immediately. You may also need to quarantine.
  • If you are unwell or waiting for the results of a COVID-19 test, do not come onto campus. Any suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19 must be reported to Curtin’s Safer Community Team immediately on 9266 4444.
  • Physical distancing and good personal hygiene measures must be maintained at all Curtin sites, and the ongoing use of contact registers and the SafeWA app is critical to quickly containing potential COVID outbreaks.
  • All campus users must continue to scan in or sign the contact register where the SafeWA QR code is displayed. It is more important than ever for us not to become complacent about this.
  • Continue to use the two square metre rule as a useful guide to appropriate physical distancing. It is important that students keep their distance from each other wherever possible, including in teaching and learning and other work spaces, when queuing at food outlets, or moving around our campuses.
  • No changes are expected to student placements. Any questions should be referred to the relevant Unit Coordinator.
  • The State Government has also imposed border restrictions on travel to and from other states. Anyone intending to travel must check for restrictions and quarantine requirements relating to their intended destination .
