Become a Curtin Buddy in Semester 2!

Curtin Buddies provide tailored support to Curtin’s international students as they transition back to studying on-campus and online until their arrival in Australia.

This volunteer opportunity will be for a period of approximately 12 weeks, working 1 to 2 hours per week, with a maximum of 20 hours for the semester. You will also receive Curtin Extra recognition upon completing 20 hours of volunteer work with Curtin Buddies and two Curtin Extra online modules.

As a Curtin Buddy, you will be:

  • Communicating with your student matches at least once a week, in person or online, via email or an approved social media platform
  • Provide your students with relevant and accurate information about university support services, key events and opportunities.

To be considered eligible for this position, you are:

  • A current Curtin student, with at least one semester of study completed
  • Someone with strong organisational skills and the ability to proactively manage multiple tasks
  • Able to connect and work with people from a variety of cultural backgrounds.

It would also be great if you are:

  • Available to attend and complete training 9am to 12.30pm, Thursday 7 July or Friday 8 July. Note, If you’re unable to attend, an online option will be available at a later date.
  • Able to provide a National Police Clearance and Working With Children Check if required.
