Twenty-three-year-old astrophysics graduate is a writer, a talented visual artist, an engaging public speaker and scholarship recipient. She also happens to be autistic, diagnosed at 14 years of age.
PhD candidate Ryan Urquhart’s black hole research was recognised at the 2018 Premier’s Science Awards, where he was named joint ExxonMobil Student Scientist of the Year.
Since 2012, the MWA has been helping scientists observe and characterise the southern skies, from the Earth’s atmosphere, to storms on the Sun, to the contents of the Milky Way.
